Meet Mr. Hall

Welcome to Mr. Hall's Math.  Please check back here often as you will be able to find out what you need to do to be prepared for class, and have a succesful school year.

First, let me introduce myself.  I was born  the 4th child in a family of 9 children.  I grew up learning to plant onions, potatoes, and vegetables and fruits of all kinds.  We raised chickens, for my Mom to can and feed our family with.  I also raised lambs, goats, and pigeons.

I had many jobs growing up.  The most interesting job I had was cleaning out race horse stalls.  I also did mowing jobs, and field irrigation, etc.  My father was a paleontologist, and at one time worked as a zookeeper at the Arizona zoo.  I had many fun and crazy adventures involving dinosaurs and animals.  When I was little I thought that I would grow up to be a rancher.  In high school I wanted to be an actor.  It was during two years in Italy (when I was about 19 years old), that I decided to become a teacher.  Aren't you lucky! :-)
I'm a proud father of 5 children and a beautiful, intelligent wife.  As a family we like to do science activities, art, and acting.  We have enjoyed many years of American West Heritage Center volunteer work.

In some regards I've fulfilled my dreams of 2 of my desires of what I would be when I grew up.  I'm not only a teacher, but an actor.  I'm presently filming for a New Testament movie, which is being filmed on set in Goshen, Utah.  I've also been in many other films, such as the "Emma, My Story", "Mormon Batallion," and others.  I've also had a lot of stage experience at USU, BYU, and BYU-Hawaii.

Other activites I enjoy are Origami, Tangrams, Book Collecting and caring for animals.

I love hands on activities that get you to think about coming up with the best solutions, learning to work together as a team, and seeing how math applies in your everyday life.  If you try your best to be part of the team--acting with respect toward everyone in our classroom, being prepared, and following directions--you will not only learn and improve your math skills, but have fun in the process.  I look forward to getting to know each one of you.

Sincerely, Mr. Hall
